About the event
Alice Bossi presents a show for young audiences that rereads Andersen's famous fairy tale in a contemporary, female key.
At its centre is Caterina, a young empress who has grown up under the watch of a magic mirror that governs her appearance and behaviour according to strict ideals of perfection. On her birthday she receives a magic dress that forces her to face her fears and insecurities.
The themes are identity and self-image, social judgement and collective expectations, and aesthetic and gender models. Through body language and a poetic, ironic clownery, the show invites reflection on social conditioning and on the possibility of freely building one's own identity.
It was selected for the Festival Segnali 2025 (contemporary theatre for young audiences) and named among the best shows of 2025 on KLP Teatro.
