What you find
Arona's main weekly market is a classic Italian one. Food stalls sell cheese from the region and from all over Italy, meat and lake fish, fresh pasta, bread, focaccia and pizza by the slice, with plenty of seasonal fruit and vegetables. Other stalls sell household goods, haberdashery, garden and kitchen tools, and clothing from leather jackets, belts and hats to underwear.
Tips
Sources give a closing time of 13:00 or 14:00, so go in the morning. On Fridays a smaller market runs in Viale Croce Rossa, and from March to October there is also a Sunday market on the lakefront.
