What you find
One of the biggest markets in the area, with more than 200 stalls along the whole lakefront every Sunday of the year. Food stalls sell regional and Italian cheese, cured and fresh meat, lake fish, breads such as salted bread and focaccia, fruit, vegetables and flowers. The rest sell clothing, shoes, leather bags, belts and jackets, hats, haberdashery and fabric. Bars and restaurants line the waterfront.
Tips
The tourist office gives 8:00 to about 13:00–13:30; other listings say it runs into the early afternoon. Parking fills early, and the boat from Locarno, Brissago or Luino is an easy alternative.
