Verbania's main market fills the squares of Intra every Saturday. Food stalls sell fresh cheese, mozzarella, parmesan and pecorino, lake fish, cured meats, bread, focaccia and sweets, local honey products, and fresh vegetables, fruit and flowers even in winter. Many stands sell shoes, belts, leather jackets and bags at low prices, plus clothing, wool, buttons and fabric.
Tips
Sources give a closing time of 16:00 or 17:00; the morning is busiest. Pallanza has its own market on Fridays.
